SOS Public Meeting Agenda for Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Our weekly meeting is today, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 @ 5:15pm to 6:15pm at the Newman United Methodist Church,  located at 132 NE “B” Street, in Grants Pass.

·       What does the recent movement of House passage of the O+C Timber Plan in Washington DC mean for Josephine County? Josephine County Commissioner Keith Heck

·       The Immediate Change Committee’s First Project   Jubilee Park, Cave Junction Shane Simon Saturday, September 21, 2013—How it went!

·       Jail/Juvenile Justice Levy Committee Presentation 

Pat Fahey completed petition; language in the petition to include that levy funds are dedicated and are also subject to scrutiny via audit; the target date for this levy, May of 2014; and the Chief Petitioners are; NEED Committee WEBPAGE for WEBSITE

·       Justice of Peace Committee Update Dave Corsi attended the JOP Seminar in Springfield, Oregon, this past Wednesday and Thursday, and will be giving us an UPDATE; in 1990, the Josephine County Board of Commissioners gave the “go ahead” to establish a JOP here in Josephine County, but it never materialized; Dave was explicit to announce that this court “would not be a revenue gatherer, rather a revenue diverter”;  NEED Committee WEBPAGE for WEBSITE

·       The Hardrock Mining Committee—What’s the Next Step? Michael Cope will bring a flow chart for tomorrow’s meeting, so we can understand what the process to continue with our mining efforts are and why the Mining Lab in Merlin is so important

·        Opioid Clinic Update/Meeting Notes Toni Webb Our next Opioid Committee meeting is September 26, 2013 at Women’s Health Center

·       Timber Committee—What’s Next? Jim Frick
·       Fund-Raising Art Show  planning for the Opioid Committee’s Awareness Campaign begins tomorrow
·       Run/Walk Committee Bill West Meeting after regular meeting today/Name?
