Movement up North, per Wally Hicks, “The chair of House Rules told me yesterday that HB 3453 (https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2013R1/Measures/Text/HB3453/Introduced) – which provides for a state takeover of county services and/or a merging of one county’s services with another county – is now going to move. So all indications are that the state will likely take over and/or merge portions of our justice system with Jackson County.”
  11. Wally Hicks continued, “Rep. Garrett told me he will consider amendments so we have about one week to come up with a plan for how we want to this to look. But I can tell you the bill is going to pass and there is a high likelihood that the state subsequently will take over.”
